The TeacherCorps program at the University of New Mexico is a partnership between UNM's Community Engagement Center, Teacher Education Department and community-schools in Albuquerque. The TeacherCorps program evolved from a community identified need to transform teacher preparation in order to be more responsive to community perspectives on education. The program focuses on preparing a new generation of teachers who understand the context of low socioeconomic communities of color and enables them to foster a deep love of learning.Read more.
