Project Description
We travel to Guayaquil, Ecuador to effect surgical correction of congenital, post-traumatic, or post-infection bone and joint deformities in children. We carry all necessary personnel including surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, as well as supplies and equipment.

All equipment/supplies/personnel are taken to Ecuador to enable an intense week of surgery. Medical students from Ecuador serve as translators and are integrated as part of the team. UNM residents and nurses travel with us. To provide medical care to children who would otherwise not receive it, and to teach both US and Ecuadorian students as well
 
Eligibility
Orthopaedic residents, Anesthesiology residents, pediatric RNs, experienced orthopaedic scrub technicians, experienced pediatric orthotists, Orthopaedic/Pediatric/Anesthesiology faculty
