Project Description Potential RN-BSN students do not have access to a BSN unless the program is delivered in their area. The College of Nursing has done this via a fully Web based program for 5 years. However, many potential students are not as computer literate as they need to be in order to succeed. Also, they have not had access to the UNM library online full-text journal data base. Undergraduate education depends upon students being able to locate, access and obtain peer reviewed journals. This skill as well as APA related paper format skills and writing skills were taught as part of this class. Faculty used local community college computer labs to deliver the course in the students local area. The project was completed in the fall of 2006. It involved a HRSA funded effort to develop and implement an introductory computer technology course that included an introduction to biblographic full text online search skills and APA format as used by the College of Nursing. The course was delivered in Gallup, Espanola, Farmington, and Las Vegas. It also involved faculty providing information and advisement at local hospital facilities for area RNs interested in the College's RN-BSN online degree program. Eligibility RN license and interest in obtaining a BSN degree. Course InformationDepartment: NursingCourse #: 225 Frequency: Every semester  | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
