Ready to Lead in Literacy utilizes PBS children's programs as a teaching tool for home schoolers, day care providers and parents to get children Ready to Learn. KNME conducts over 50 workshops each year for approximately 1,250 parents and childcare givers. The workshops also provide childcare workers with state-required training hours. Over 10,000 children have been impacted. Ready to Lead in Literacy also provides books to Bernalillo County Community Centers and otehr community partners such as APS, CYFD, Navajo Nation Head Start Centers, and ABEC.

The Ready to Lead in Literacy project was developed by PBS and CPB (The Corporation for Public Broadcasting) to help get children interested in reading and reading in general. The goal of this project is to have pre-schoolers ready to learn by the time they enter elementary school.
