Project Description
UNM Press publishes nearly eighty books annually in the fields of anthropology, history, literature, natural history, regional studies, fiction, and a variety of other subjects. The press also distributes books for other New Mexico publishers via its state-of-the-art shipping operation.

Originally, UNM Press was created to print the dissertations of UNM students and to publish journals affiliated with the university.UNM Press books are often used in classrooms, mainly in history and Latin American studies courses.

Objectives:
1. Perpetuate quality publishing and promote university press publishing.
2. Publish authors whose works contribute to the public sphere.
3. Promote culture and literary identity of New Mexico.
4. Serve as the publishing arm of the University of New Mexico.
5. Bring pride to the state, city, and university.
 
Eligibility
Anyone is eligible to learn more about UNM Press. More information is available at www.unmpress.com. Occasional student internships and permanent work-study employment is also available.
