Project Description
Since 1999, the Teacher's Institute has offered credit-bearing graduate level seminars in academic content areas across the disciplines. More than 500 working teachers have taken part in workshops and seminars in subjects from Astronomy to Writing. Institute seminars are taught by UNM faculty to assure that the content is rigorous and up to date, but they are designed to meet the specific learning needs of classroom teachers. Provides seminars and short programs in liberal arts disciplines to help K-12 teachers develop rigorous and up-to-date curriculum and effective teaching strategies in these subjects.
 
Eligibility
Currently employed as a teacher in a K-12 school, public or proviate. For some programs, enrollment is limited to teachers in a relevant subject, such as science, mathematics, or language arts.
