Project Description
CLARO was establish in 1997 as the outreach branch for then Latin American Institute under Dr. Gilbert with the purpose of disseminating cultural awareness in all its aspects of Latin America and Iberia, through collection of intersiciplinary materials, art exhibits, conferences, symposia amd community involvement.

CLARO serves private and public sectors by offering workshops/seminars. conferences, art exhibits and other cultural events related to Latin America, Spain, Portugal and the global Iberian legacy. CLARO's Voces Poeticas Children's Spanish Poetry Contest is entering is seventh continuos year and involves elementary schools in the Albuquerque area with underserved Hispanic populations. More than 50 students participate each year.
 
Eligibility
Signed lending agreement to borrow materials from the center. As long as the person participating is a member of the community at large and a citizen of New Mexico, CLARO's services are free and clear
