Project Description
The Pueblo de Cochiti developed long and short-term goals to address the loss of Keres in different generations. This project has trained over 40 Keres language teachers, developed a basic curriculum, developed Memoranda of Understanding between the Public Education Department, Bernalillo Public Schools, and the tribe. The program has organized summer immersion classes, and classes in schools, and for tribal employees. They have also developed and organized a language nest for very young children.
